Barbara Miles of Coldwell Banker Residential, was selected as the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS® (GCAAR) 2007 REALTOR® of the Year. A native Washingtonian, Barbara has been a full-time agent for nearly twenty-five years. In addition to her success in the nuts and bolts of real estate, she has built her career around the community. She serves as an active volunteer in the REALTOR® associations and local non-profit organizations.
Barbara has spent countless hours volunteering for both GCAAR and the Maryland Association of REALTORS®. On the local level, she had participated in more than ten committees and task forces over the past decade, including serving on the Board of Directors for the past six years. Barbara has also spent more than her fair share of time in Annapolis volunteering for a variety of MAR committees, including serving two 2-year terms as a District Vice President Representative.
Dedicated to working in the community, the highlights of Barbara’s service to charitable organizations reach far and wide. “Barbara is a prolific, tireless volunteer for many community charitable organizations,” said Coldwell Banker’s Branch Vice President Alana Lasover. “She has done so much work for St. Luke’s House that she was honored as their ‘Volunteer of the Year’ in 2007 and they planted a tree in her honor.” In addition to her work with St. Luke’s, Barbara has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, the Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon, Rebuilding Together, the Community Based Shelter, and has been a valuable member of GCAAR’s Community Service Committee since its inception. She is also a volunteer organizer for several Kentlands community activities.
