Dennis Melby, 2008 President of the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS®, will testify before the Montgomery County Council in response to Bill 31-07, Real Property - Energy Performance Audits, on Thursday, January 17 at 7:30 pm.
The bill would require purchasers to add and pay for a home energy inspection to their purchase offer if they choose to perform a regular home inspection. Melby says GCAAR has several proposals that will achieve the same goals the legislation seeks to mandate, and do so in a more equitable and effective fashion.
