GCAAR Endorsement of Steve Silverman for Montgomery County Executive

On May 4, 2006 the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS^® ("GCAAR") officially announced its endorsement of Steve Silverman for the Montgomery County Executive's Democratic Primary Race. Steve Silverman has worked on a variety of issues as a Montgomery County Councilmember such as transportation, education and affordable and workforce housing. His record demonstrates a strong commitment to fostering livable communities, excellent public schools, a strong social services safety net and to promoting economic revitalization and empowering people through economic opportunity. Steve has shown great leadership in helping to improve our public schools and working to find real solutions to traffic congestion.

GCAAR believes that Steve's leadership roles as both County Council President and Council Planning Housing and Economic Development Commitment Chair show that he is a bridge-builder with a positive record of accomplishments. He has worked extensively over the years with the REALTOR^® community and GCAAR to encourage homeownership for everyone and provide livable communities. Steve has a strong commitment to protecting our quality of life and will help assure that there are ample housing choices for citizens of all income levels. He has expressed great interest in continuing his work with the REALTORS^® to continue and expand his efforts throughout the county to encourage homeownership for everyone.
