to National Rehabilitation Hospital
presented the joint donation to Robert Hartmann (left) of the National Rehabilitation Hospital.
The Greater Washington Commercial Association of REALTORS® (GWCAR) and the Washington DC Association of REALTORS® (WDCAR) made a joint contribution of $5000 to benefit the children's unit at the National Rehabilitation Hospital. The donation was made the evening of December 5 at the National Association of REALTORS® building in downtown Washington, DC during a joint annual meeting for the two associations. Robert Hartmann of the NRH, was on hand to accept the donation.
Both GWCAR and WDCAR continue to give back to the local community through charitable efforts. In 2006, GWCAR's community donations benefited various charities, including Jubilee Housing, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the DC Special Olympics. WDCAR has recently worked with Habitat for Humanity, sponsoring the building of a house in a part of New Orleans still recovering from damage caused by Hurricane Katrina.
The National Rehabilitation Hospital is a private, not-for-profit facility located in Northwest Washington, DC. The hospital is designed specifically for rehabilitation of individuals with disabling injuries. It was recently honored as one of America's best rehabilitation hospitals in 2006 by US News and World Report.
The Washington DC Association of REALTORS® is comprised of almost 3,000 professionals who help residents find homes, and business owners find office and retail space in the District. The Association's members are on the front line of promoting ownership in the District to residents, potential residents, and business owners who are considering investing in the District.
