Get Ready! SentriLock is Coming to GCAAR!

GCAAR will be converting to the SentriLock Lockbox System during the first three weeks of December, 2008.

As a GCAAR member, you will receive a new SentriLock keybox for each Supra keybox that is registered to you and returned to GCAAR. This will be a straight one-for-one exchange. You will also be returning your Supra key and the related hardware to GCAAR. You will receive a new Sentrilock card to use with the Sentrilock Lockbox System.

Early in the fall you will receive information via e-mail from SentriLock. You will be asked to register for an appointment at one of three strategically located training sites (Washington, DC, Gaithersburg, Maryland or Bethesda, Maryland.) During this appointment, you will get your SentriLock card and keyboxes and will receive training on the new system.

In order to make sure everything goes smoothly for you, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CORRECT E-MAIL ADDRESS IS ON FILE WITH GCAAR. You can do this at www.gcaar.com. Click on Membership and then Update My Member Record.

SentriLock will be communicating with GCAAR members via e-mail. E-mail will be used to set up appointments and disseminate important information about the conversion. It is imperative that we have your correct e-mail address.

Many surrounding jurisdictions have already converted to the SentriLock system. If you have shown or listed properties in Anne Arundel, Carroll, Frederick, Baltimore, Harford or Howard counties, you may already be familiar with the SentriLock System.

Prince George's County will also convert to SentriLock in November, 2008 and Northern Virginia will be converting early in 2009. Once all area associations are using the SentriLock system, you will find it much easier to work in multiple jurisdictions. Your SentriLock card will work throughout the Baltimore/Washington DC area.

Important Notice Regarding Your E-mail Address SentriLock and GCAAR will be sending a lot of conversion information by e-mail. You should have received a letter from GCAAR confirming the e-mail address we have on file for you. Please make sure your e-mail address is correct. If it is an old address or we don't have an e-mail on file for you, you will miss out on important conversion details. The National Association of REALTORS® now also requires all members to have an e-mail address in order to maintain your NRDS number (your national membership number). If you don't have an e-mail address on file because you don't want to receive any messages from the associations, please request that your e-mail address be marked "do not send."
